RCA Records announced today that they signed American Idol David Cook. They added that Cook’s debut label released album will be out this fall after he finishes the American Idol tour!
So how popular is Season 7’s American Idol since being crowned just a week ago?

“The Time Of My Life” has sold 236,024 digital tracks in 4 days, making it the best single debut of an American Idol since season two. Additionally, Cook currently has 17 tracks on the Top 100 Digital Songs Chart, the most ever by any artist.
“The Time Of My Life” is blowing up at radio, coming in as the #1 most added at Hot AC and AC radio right out of the box and #2 most added at Top 40 radio, pulling in over 6 million listeners in less than a week without an official launch. Additionally, it was the biggest single premiere on AOL’s PopEater site this year, garnering over 1 million streams in 24 hours.
“I am extremely happy to be signed by 19 Recordings / RCA Records. Signing this deal is truly a dream come true. I am looking forward to the recording process and creating a record. The support I have received from America has been overwhelming and I can’t wait to hopefully do right by them,” says David Cook.

I hope that David Cook is the winner just because he so deserves it! But part of me wonders if he threw the competition away last night because let’s be real it is almost better to be the American Idol loser than winner. Either way he will be the winner in my book! I am dying to hear what his album will sound like because if it is done right, it will be mind blowing.

Ryan Seacrest shared his daily grid schedule with Jimmy Kimmel on Friday and I was exhausted just listening to him, that I don’t know how he does it day in and day out. I admire those three people who are CC’d on that list because if I was in control of that schedule he would be showing up naked on American Idol…which might not be a bad thing!

Here's how it went down. "Idol" sources tell TMZ Jeff has been a complete pain in the ass, interfering with the entire production. He has badgered producers, the band, vocal coaches and even other contestants. The final straw came this week, when Jeff wanted to change the lyrics to David's first song, "Stand By Me." Jeff insisted on adding a verse from Sean Kingston's hit, "Beautiful Girls." Producers sent him an e-mail telling him the lyrics could not be changed. They were beyond pissed when David sang the song with Kingston's lyrics during the live show.

American Idol’s failed singer wannabe reporter Chris Bernheisel was told by Simon Cowell during the auditions that he could report on the red carpet from the American Idol finale for his local Fox affiliate in Fresno. But as the time grew closer, he was not getting all of his demands from Fox and the Fresno Fox affil, so he threatened to sue if he did not get all his demands for how he wanted to cover the red carpet and the deal fell through. Well Jimmy Kimmel was touched by his story and made an on-air offer to Chris that he could cover the AI finale red carpet for Jimmy Kimmel Live! if he followed all of Jimmy’s demands. As you can see Chris learned his lesson and we will get to see if Simon Cowell got it right when he told Chris he could cover the AI finale red carpet on May 21st.
Hopefully he will do a good job on the red carpet and not let Jimmy Kimmel down.

It is no secret that David Cook’s brother Adam has brain cancer and Adam has only been out to see his little brother once since the show started. He has only been out once because it is expensive for him to get out her because of his medical needs. The first time he was out here, Terre Haute, Indiana rallied together to make his trip possible. Now David Cook’s fans are asking us to all rally together and help to raise the $80,000 needed to get Adam Cook to see his little brother in the finale in two weeks because you know David is going to be there!
