Aliph brings Babbling Blue / Rambling Rosé Jawbones to Best Buy

October 27th, 2008 by

Not sure what exactly was so wrong with Blah Blah Black, Silver Tongue and Goldy Lips, but for those not really turned on by any of the aforementioned hues, you should probably set your navigator to the nearest Best Buy. Aliph has just introduced two new colors in the Jawbone family — Babbling Blue and Rambling Rosé (shown after the break) — which will be offered up exclusively at Best Buy Mobile. Same heralded Bluetooth headset, same $139.99 price tag — just with two new tints.

Microsoft ships red wireless Xbox 360 controller for the holidays

September 30th, 2008 by

Here’s an interesting one. That red / black Xbox 360 controller that was showcased back in July is now available to any ole consumer in the US, Canada, Latin America New Zealand and Asia, and it comes bundled with a Play & Charge Kit and red rechargeable battery for $64.99. For whatever reason, Microsoft’s totally missing a golden opportunity to cash in on the holiday shopping season by reserving the green counterpart as some “promotional item.” C’mon guys, is it really that hard to understand how irresistible a red and green gamepad tandem would be in late December?

ASUS doles out gold and blue Eee PCs

September 27th, 2008 by

Filed under:

With the introduction of the well-received N10, we thought maybe — just maybe — ASUS was moving beyond its disgusting obsession with mutilating the Eee brand. Instead, we’re now faced with fresh hues of two old faces: the blue 901A and the gilded 900A. Looks as if all the internals have remained the same, though there’s no indication what kind of premium (if any) you’ll have to pay for your color of choice.

[Thanks, Sascha]

Sprint readying a red HTC Touch Diamond?

August 15th, 2008 by

Filed under:

We won’t even front with you — we have some serious doubts about this one, but with all those other red handsets that have emerged on Sprint over the years, we suppose that image above has a sliver of credence. We’ve no details whatever outside of two more shots of the red HTC Touch Diamond (or Victor, to be proper) in the read link, but these could very well be someone’s best shot at using Photoshop to gain 15 minutes of internet fame. What say you, dear readers? Real or fake?

Luxeed’s Dynamic Pixel LED Keyboard fills a void for under two bills

August 6th, 2008 by

Filed under:

For the longest time, Luxeed’s eye-tingling keyboards were only available on the other side of the planet. Now, however, the Dynamic Pixel LED Keyboard is finally for sale on US soil. We’ll spare you the completely irrelevant Optimus Maximus links — after all, this thing only allows you to tweak the colors of each individual key — but those obsessed with lighting up their gaming area without using those boring incandescents will certainly find plenty to love. And yeah, the $199.99 (for the keyboard alone; the number pad attachment is another $34.99) price tag is way closer to “manageable” than that ‘board you really want.

[Thanks, Zarian]

Nintendo re-launching Metallic Rose DS Lite as standalone system

May 16th, 2008 by

Just in case the Big N hadn’t doled out enough variations of pinkish DS Lites, along comes yet another one to spend your discretionary income on. Later this month, a standalone Metallic Rose version of the handheld will be widely available in the US, but folks who managed to snag this very device in that Nintendogs bundle last year can pass right on by. Additionally, Nintendo is once again looking to the celebrities to push its wares, with America Ferrera and Carrie Underwood starring in spots with the aforesaid Rose DS and Liv Tyler showing up with the two-toned Crimson / Black edition. We’re expecting the not-entirely-new hue to run the same price as all of the others, but we’d still recommend grabbing one quick if you’re interested. One more look after the break.

Segway i2 now available in Metallic Sage, still not inviting

May 2nd, 2008 by

Filed under:

We appreciate the effort, we really do, but we can’t see a new hue as being the adjustment that coaxes the world to stop laughing at the Segway i2. Nevertheless, those who have convinced themselves that they just have to have a two-wheeled transporter can now snatch one up in Metallic Sage. Of course, it’s not like anyone outside of the i2 owners circle will even notice the difference, but hey, we’ve heard that some seriously great relationships have come from within that exclusive sect. Sike.

Microsoft’s Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000: now in more delicious hues

April 8th, 2008 by

Filed under:

Aside from shamelessly tooting its own horn, Microsoft is proudly announcing that the “number one best-selling notebook mouse in the US” now comes in five more adorable hues. The special edition Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 will be available in Pomegranate (red), Dragon fruit (dark pink), Aloe (green), Milk chocolate (brown) and Creme brulee (khaki), all of which sound entirely more delicious than attractive. Nevertheless, the world famous travel critter will otherwise remain unchanged and should hit Best Buy stores in May (everywhere else in June, Engadget store notwithstanding) for $29.95.

Gateway intros new skins for M-Series and T-Series laptops

January 17th, 2008 by

Filed under:

digg_url = ‘http://digg.com/design/Gateway_Intros_New_4_Skins_For_M_Series_and_T_Series_Laptops’; Gateway knows that it takes more than a bunch of meaningless digits related to “CPU speed” and “hard drive capacity” to get today’s fast-paced teenagers buying its laptops — which is why they’ve just announced new “skin” updates to the M-Series and T-Series models. Beginning today, users will be able to purchase the computers in their original “Garnet Red” and “Pacific Blue,” as well as the new shades “Merlot,” “Siver,” and “Arctic Bloom.” Finally, there can be more to your Gateway than mere technical features.

New Wii colors coming our way?

January 14th, 2008 by

Filed under:

If you’re the kind of cat or kitten that listens to “reports” on “things,” then you’ll want to turn your furry ears in this direction. Apparently, a stray Target receipt containing some elicit information made its way out onto the internet today (you know how those get around). Just what does this slip of paper tell us? According to the supplier (a Target employee), the store has begun listing the Wii as “White” in color, as opposed to just “Wii-colored” or “sold-out.” The suggestion is that with the sudden delineation of color, more than “White” may be on the way — speculation due mostly in part to Target’s receipt-prescience on things like iPod deletions and the like. Of course, we’ve been hearing this kind of stuff for awhile, so we’re not holding our breath on the issue, and suggest you do the same. Er, don’t do. Don’t hold your breath.

Winfly offers up HDD-PMP-001 in myriad colors

December 11th, 2007 by

Winfly’s HDD-PMP-001 certainly isn’t the new poster child for PMPs, but it’s not half bad for a no-name device. Aside from being available in a plethora of colors including gold, black, blue, purple and orange, this unit also sports a 4-inch display, a 20GB hard drive, an FM tuner / recorder, USB 2.0 connectivity and a rechargeable Li-ion to boot. As for file support, you can count on it playing nice with DivX, AVI, VOB, MPEG1/3/4, XviD, MP3, WMA and JPG. Regrettably, there’s no mention of a price, but chances are a quick trip through Shanghai would clue you in real quick like.

Western Digital adds three new colors to Passport lineup

October 2nd, 2007 by

Filed under:

While we’re sure some folks were just fine with WD’s glossy black 250GB Passport, the firm is looking out for those who like their external drives a bit more flashy. Western Digital is now offering up its quarter-terabyte Passport in vibrant green, glossy white and metallic red, but aside from the hues, everything else looks to be staying the same. No official word on price just yet, but it should line up pretty evenly with the black iteration already out.

Microsoft’s pink / blue Xbox 360 controllers on sale in US

October 2nd, 2007 by

Filed under:

Although we knew that Japan would be getting a new pair of pastel-ed Xbox 360 controllers, there’s good news for those camped out in America, too. Starting today, US consumers can snatch up each of the colored controllers for $49.99 apiece, which are indeed of the wireless variety. Thankfully, this blue looks a tad more masculine than the prior version we saw, and if you’re still in doubt, check out a few more angles after the jump.
