Tucked away in the HD DVD booth, Imagion AG — creators of the first HD DVD with internet connectivity, the first European HD DVD and the first Blu-ray Profile 1.1 release — was showing off its end to end tools for creating next gen interactive features. Despite being a Blu-ray exclusive movie in the U.S., Imagion is working on the Terminator 2: Ultimate HD Edition release for Europe, which will let fans view the script and/or storyboard during playback, share special edits of the movie via the internet, and track their interactive Blu-ray and HD DVDs via tuneHD.net, powered by their dynamicHD tech. With simplified access for publishers to update online features through a web interface and community features connect fans, Imagion is continuing to push the edges of next gen disc formats. Check out the gallery for a look at what tomorrow’s HDi and BD Live discs can do.

According to a recently released report by the Pew Internet and American Life Project, a telephone study of US youths aged 12-17 found that — get this — kids actually put value on “non-online” meetings, such as “talking on the phone” or “hanging out.” If you believe these so-called findings, 40-percent of teens say they use that archaic and confusing system of wired telephones, while 31-percent claim to spend time “in person” with friends every day, as though they’re not frittering away their time on PCs, DS Lites, and cellphones — interacting virtually, like the rest of us. Our take? Obvious youth-driven cover-up. Hear us out here. If the ‘rents found out kids were growing up so socially disenfranchised, they might just take all those beautiful gadgets away. On the other hand (or OTOH, as the youngsters say on their picture calculators), we don’t exactly take a telephone poll of 935 teens as empirical knowledge, so maybe it’s possible that kids are pretty much the same as they’ve always been — if slightly more distracted. One thing’s for sure — they’ll never experience the pain of not knowing the lyrics to Rock Me Amadeus like we did.

Thong Girl is still my #1 pic from Google Street View. (Images)
If I was a millionaire…
I would pay for a massive campaign to hold a contest to see who can find, if not create themselves, the funniest, most wacky Google Street View image.
The Google Street View feature raises some interesting, and scary, privacy issues. So far there are only a few major U.S. cities enabled with the technology for panoramic views of streets.
Mashable.com has released, in their opinion, the top 15 Street View sightings so far. I’m sure there will be many more to come, and they probably would have put the thong girl first if they had known about her when this list was made.
You can check out all kinds of great pictures from Google Street View Sightings.
Here is Mashable’s top 15: Read the rest of this entry »

iPhone will be officially released on June 29. (Images)
If I was a millionaire…
I would buy one of Apple’s new iPhones which is now comfirmed to be released on June 29. According to engadget a commercial just aired on 60 minutes.
You can purchase the iPhone for a mere $600, that is of course that you are a new customer willing to sign on for that 2 friggin year term that all the phone companies get ya with now.
Apple has now also released the iPhone ads on their website.

Google Maps new street view reviels more than just streets! (Images)
If I were a millionaire…
I would buy the girl seen in this Google Maps Streets View page a belt, so that her ass doesn’t have to hang out and show her thong anymore (although she does have a nice ass).
Does anyone else here think that this new Streets View is just a little creepy? I bet we are 5 years or less from it all being live video…. now you scared?
Please share any interested things you find on Streets View and comment with a link.
You can view more street view pictures here.
