Rita Rocks her way on to Lifetime tonight!

October 20th, 2008 by

In “Rita Rocks,” Nicole Sullivan stars as Rita Clemens, an overworked wife and mother in the middle of a full-blown identity crisis — which includes trying to maintain romance with her husband Jay (Richard Ruccolo), juggling the demands of her nine-year-old daughter, Shannon (Kelly Gould), and disciplining her defiant teenage daughter Hallie (Natalie Dreyfuss) and her ever-present boyfriend Kip (Raviv Ullman). After being passed over for a promotion at work, Rita is at her wit’s end. In search of “youthful” Rita, she dusts off her old guitar and forms a garage band with her nosy postal carrier Patty (Tisha Campbell-Martin) and unemployed neighbor Owen (guest star Ian Gomez), in the hopes of putting that spark back in her life.

Lifetime who has had huge success with the drama Army Wives, is branching out to sitcoms tonight with Rita Rocks. Rita Rocks fills the hole the networks have left by not doing traditional sitcoms. It is funny and just has that good old family sitcom feel. You know with a married couple trying to make it work as they raise their 3 kids. Their oldest daughter is dating a loser who basically spends all his time at their house and is in Rita’s band! The show deals with all the same sitcom family problems that the other sitcoms have, but you know what that never grows old and they are always funny. The one thing that shocked me is Nicole Sullivan can really sing and the band is really good. I think I might have to go to a show taping just to hear them play!!!
So tune into Rita Rocks at 8:30p every night this week for a show that will make laugh out loud and boogie on down!!!

Let Ladies of the House in yours tonight

October 18th, 2008 by

flash” allowfullscreen=”true” width=”425″ height=”344″>

When three friends single-handedly take on the rebuilding of a run-down house, they soon discover that their own lives require an equal amount of renovation.
With their church in dire need of funds in order to maintain its daycare center, the local pastor turns to three parishioners for help: Rose (Henderson), whose beloved husband, Frank (Henriksen) is hiding a serious medical condition; well-to-do Elizabeth (Mills), the haughty wife of an inattentive plastic surgeon (Thomson); and Birdie (Grier), who is trying to adapt to life now that her husband, Stan (Roundtree) a new retiree, is using his free time to be a general nuisance around the house.
The pastor’s solution is to have the ladies oversee renovations of a run-down house that was donated to the church, but with no funds for a proper crew, the women reluctantly agree to take on the heavy lifting themselves, from pipes to paint. As the little house’s upgrades continue, its slow progress mirrors deep personal changes in the lives of the three women, who are forced to make difficult decisions regarding their lives, their past decisions and the future.

Ladies of the House premieres on Hallmark Channel tonight at 9p and this movie will make you laugh, cry and want to grow old with someone. Florence Henderson, Pam Grier and Donna Mills play 3 woman who must fix up a house so they can sell it to raise money for their church’s day care center. These three actresses have amazing chemistry together, and that just draws you more into this movie. Besides the struggles of building the house these three women are struggling with life at home with their husbands. By taking on the house, they are becoming stronger women and their friendship.
So tune in to Ladies of the House, a movie that is perfect for a Saturday night or any night on Hallmark at 9p.

October 15th, 2008 by

(photo © Discovery)

In a warehouse on an island in San Francisco Bay, a team of engineers and PhD's are inventing the future one prototype at a time. From finding solutions to today's problems, to conceiving cool machines that are just fun to have around, the Prototype This crew imagines and then invents the future by using emerging technologies to build the craziest, one-of-a-kind prototypes of tomorrow.

Tune in Wednesdays at 10 e/p for loads of zany brilliance, hi-tech wizardry, and a inside look at some of the latest tools and gadgets that just may change the way we live and work.

Prototype This is premiering tonight on Discovery Channel tonight at 10p and you don't have to be a genius to enjoy this show. In tonight's episode the team come up with a prototype that will eliminate road rage. They create a helmet for the driver to wear that measures biorhythms and if the driver gets aggravated the car will slow down or stop until they calm down. It was a lot of fun to watch them come up with the idea, then on to how they make it and then finally making it work. Watching them test it out was the best. Guess how many of them couldn't get their cars started because they were too stressed!

In the coming weeks they attempt a waterslide stimulator and a traffic busting truck (I want one!) to name a few. So tune to Discovery tonight and every Wednesday at 10p to watch a bunch guys come up with an idea of the future and make it happen today!

September 13th, 2008 by

“Coco Chanel” is the rags-to-riches tale charting the rise of one of the most influential fashion icons of the 20th century. From her humble childhood in a French orphanage, through her early days as a young dressmaker’s assistant, to her passionate and tragic love with a dashing Englishman, and ultimately to her success as a pioneering icon, “Coco Chanel” is the story of a glamorous woman who was hard to love and harder to ignore. This epic true story stars Shirley MacLaine, Malcolm McDowell and Barbora Bobulova.

Shirley MacLaine is Coco Chanel on Lifetime at 8p and she is in a movie as fashionable as the real Coco Chanel. This movie is amazing, not only is it the story of how Coco Chanel became the name became in fashion it is also a story of love! Coco Chanel is a real rags to riches story, and she had to work many years to become the woman she was known for. And she had a man who helped her to make her that way, but their love story was not an easy one, but a beautiful one. Gossip Girl is back tonight and boy is it back!!!

September 1st, 2008 by

The summer is over and what is better way to ease in to fall then to have Gossip Girl return tonight at 8p? Gossip Girl is back in full force and I have to admit the first three episodes are O-M-F’ing-G better than last year. The show picks up 3 months later and lots of new relationships have started and some are still questionable. But who is with who and who wants who and who will get back with who, you will just have to watch to find out? There are new loves starting and old loves ending and some rekindling.
They are spotted on The Hamptons and you will see how they spent the summer. Jenny has an internship that will make the Stylista wannabes jealous. Dan on the other hand has an internship that will make Clark Kent envious, but has he moved on from Serena? Then there is Chuck and Blaire she has moved on with a man who has a secret identity and Chuck well he is Chuck afterall. Finally Nate, he is no longer a one woman man and I do mean “woman”. All this happens in the first three episodes and guess what school hasn’t even started. Imagine all that will happen once they are back hitting the books.
So tune into Gossip Girl tonight and every Monday at 8p for a show that will have you reaching for your blackberry for the latest gossip on your friends.
xoxo

Find Little Girl Lost tonight on Lifetime Movie Network

August 17th, 2008 by

In “Little Girl Lost,” Reyes portrays Luz Cuevas, a working-class mother who is told that her infant daughter, Delimar, has perished in a suspicious fire in their Philadelphia row house. Despite the evidence, and based only on her intuition as a mother, Luz remains convinced that her daughter was kidnapped and that she’s still alive. Luz and her husband attempt to put the tragedy behind them for the sake of their other children, however, Luz continues to suspect her distant cousin of foul play and enlists the help of Angel Cruz, a sympathetic State Representative.

Little Girl Lost premieres tonight on Lifetime Movie Network at 8p! Little Lost Girl is based on a real story, and knowing that made this movie even more remarkable. To think a woman really went through all of this, makes you think how much more this story is. This is the stuff that Hollywood dreams of, but it is not made up it is real. This movie will make you cry as Luz tries to convince everyone that her daughter is alive, and when you finally find out her daughter is alive it makes you cry tears of joy. What I like most about this story it is a politician saves the day. Just when you lose hope in politicians, this movie help regain your faith in them.
So tune in to Lifetime Movie Network and watch Little Girl Lost at 8p for movie that will amaze you.

True Confenssions of a Hollywood Starlet is a must-watch

August 9th, 2008 by

Teen actress Morgan Carter is a Hollywood princess, until the day that her hard-partying ways get the best of her. After she collapses outside a Hollywood nightclub, Morgan’s mother sends her to live incognito in the wilds of Fort Wayne, Indiana, with her Aunt Trudy. With a new look and a seriously depleted budget, Morgan enters a suburban high school with a new identity and a bad attitude. But it’s not long before a cute boy next door turns her head. And suddenly Morgan finds herself caught between the bright lights of Hollywood and a simple life with the boy she loves. Based on the book by Lola Douglas.

I loved True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet that premieres on Lifetime tonight at 8p! I laughed, I cried and I really want more!!!
When I got the screener for this, I thought this movie was going to be stupid and a waste of time but I was shocked by how much I loved this movie. Jojo plays a mixture of Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears, but instead she crashes and burns at 17. Because of her young age her mom and manager send her to her aunt’s (Valerie Bertinelli) in Fort Wayne, Indiana to be a normal teen. Jojo actually played the role perfectly of Morgan Carter, she changes with her character and doesn’t overact anything and doesn’t forget how she should be acting at that time in the movie. She starts off spoiled starlet but you watch her change into a normal teen. Valerie Bertinelli plays her aunt perfectly, some of their scenes together just draw right into the movie. At one point in the movie I started to cry and I couldn’t believe that this movie touched me that much. In fact I cried a few times, but I laughed and smiled even more.
It is great to watch as Morgan Carter grows throughout the movie. In fact it takes a real look into what is going wrong with some of the biggest grown up child stars of today. In fact I think this is a must watch for parents of child stars to see how important it is to make sure they have normal lives too and not one that is just work, assistants and yes people.
Seriously, I love True Confessions of a Hollywood so much, I hope that Lifetime is considering turning this movie into a series.
So tune into True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet on Lifetime at 8p for a movie that will surprise you how good it is!

Play the game with WarGames 2: The Dead Code

August 6th, 2008 by

When Will Farmer (Lanter) hacks into a restricted network of online gaming known only as R.I.P.L.E.Y., he stumbles onto a national defense system designed to ferret out fledgling terrorist cells…and becomes Ripley’s next target! His identity compromised, his family and friends jeopardized and his hometown in the crosshairs of an automated military response, Will’s only hope to clear his name lies in beating Ripley at her own game. But when the game escalates to the next level, it becomes a race against time to stop Ripley from unleashing Armageddon!

25 years ago it was asked, “Do you want to play a game?” in Wargames and when it comes to the sequel WarGames: The Dead Code the answer is once again yes! Actually in the sequel the male computerized voice is replaced by Ripley, a sexy female voice flirting with you to “Play with me”. Ripley is the modern-day version of Joshua and she is a lot more evil and run by more of a military jerk obsessed with power which is not a good thing for our lead Will. Will is played by Matt Lanter and him in Heroes and now instead of filming the cheerleader, he is the hero he deserves to be. The movie wastes no time to get started and once it does it is one fast-paced action movie that has rooting for the lead. We follow Will as he starts to play the game in Philadelphia and then as he goes on a school trip to Canada and he gets chased in Canada by Ripley and the US Government. While running from everyone he meets Joshua’s creator Dr. Stephen Falken and together Will, Falken and yes Joshua fight Ripley. Will they be able to save the world from Ripley or will there be complete annihilation? Check this fast-pasted enjoyable sequel that was worth waiting 25 years to see!
BTW besides the great acting and special effects, the best part was hearing Joshua again!!! So go to your computer now and play the game by buying WarGames: The Dead Code that is out now!

Monk is back tonight at 9p on USA

July 18th, 2008 by

Monk is back tonight on USA at 9p and he is just as neurotic and as lovable as ever.
As most of you know the show lost one of its actors over the hiatus. Stanley Kamel passed away from a heart attack in March. This season his shoes will be filled by Hector Elizondo, and he steps in to the role perfectly. He plays it like Kamel, so us loyal viewers will not be as shocked by the change, but he also changes it up. It will be interesting to see what dynamic he will bring to the show.
Talking about changes to the show, Monk buys a house in the season premiere and of course that change does not go smoothly. Can Brad Garrett fix up the house or will he only make it worse.
So tune Monk tonight at 9p on USA for a new season of mysteries to be solves and things for him to fear and obsess over.

School might be out but Student Body is in!

July 11th, 2008 by

The new one-hour reality, hosted by Laila Ali, brings together 12 students from rival high schools in Decatur, IL, for a life-changing mission to get into shape. Getting fit isn’t the only incentive. The winning school and the winning student that makes a change for the better, both physically and mentally, will take home $25,000 that will be used for new school facilities and programs.

Student Body premieres on The N tonight at 10p and this show is amazing. Student Body is a class everyone needs to watch. 12 teens of all shapes and sizes compete to get the weight off and their lives and self-confidence on.
This show is so well done and touching it had me crying and cheering along with them. Chaz joined to show because his mom was hospitalized because she was morbidly obese and we wanted to learn to be healthy for both of them. A week before the show started his mother died. Chaz is inspiration to go on and his mom is with him in spirit.
The first thing these 12 teens have to do is climb all the stairs to get the roof of the Sears Tower, the tallest building in America at 103 stories. All 12 of them do it, and the first one did it in less than hour.
Next we see them on the weigh in on half of them have their body fat as half their weight. From the weigh in we see these teens being taught to eat properly and learning to exercise.
It is great to watch these teens start to make the change that will continue for the rest of their lives!
So tune in to Student Body tonight on The N at 10p and then on Sundays at 8p!

The Queen Bees is bitchin’

July 11th, 2008 by

Queen Bees premieres on July 11 at 9:00 p.m. (ET). The hour-long ultimate mean girl makeover reality series takes an introspective look at seven self-centered, narcissistic girls who have been elected by family members, boyfriends and friends in the hopes that they will better themselves from the inside out. Each young woman will take a closer look at who they are and re-examine their not so nice ways. The girl that changes the most will win $25,000. Queen Bees is hosted by America???s Next Top Model winner, Yoanna House, with acclaimed relationship expert Dr. Michelle serving as resident psychologist and life coach.

When I saw the promo for Queen Bees on The N, I knew the show was going to be good. But when I watched the pilot, I found out this show it is better than good it is brilliant.
7 bitchy, self-centered girls are nominated to be on the show because they are such Queen Bees by their friends, family and boyfriends. The 7 chosen are then forced to live together and compete to transforms themselves not to be so bitchy. Yeah, that will be easy, I can’t wait until they all get their time of the month together!
The first few minutes of the show, we meet the girls and you get to see why these girls were picked to be on the show. One girl gave away most of her older sister’s clothes to all of her friend and then when the sister went to school the next day she saw them all wearing them. Then there is another girl who begs her boyfriend for his checks from his two jobs as soon as he gets them. And another who invited her BFF out with her BFF’s to boyfriends who didn’t know she was dating both of them, and the BFF was left single.
The first challenge for the girls is a beauty pageant, but the Judges are blind! Wait until you see your reaction to the whole pageant. And we are beginning to see what happens when you put 7 Queen Bees in one house together…it ain’t pretty.
Finally the girls have group sessions and we get to watch the ice be chipped away some of them.
Queen Bees might be a TV competition show, but there is actually a lesson here. If you a parent or a friend of a Queen B I highly recommend watching this show because you will see what you don’t want to be and you will learn how you can be better!!!
So tune in to Queen Bees tonight and every Friday on The N at 9p! It would be a bitch to watch this show.

Get back to spying on Burn Notice tonight

July 10th, 2008 by

When spies get fired, they don’t get a letter from human resources.
They get BURNED…
This summer, USA Network presents the second season of Burn Notice, a sexy, action-packed original series starring Jeffrey Donovan as Michael Westen, a blacklisted spy. Dumped in his hometown of Miami without money or resources, Michael struggles to put his life back together and find out why he’s been burned. In the meantime, he uses his unique skills and training to help people in need … mostly people who can’t get help from the police.
Burn Notice also stars Gabrielle Anwar as Fiona, a beautiful ex-IRA operative who happens to be Westen’s ex-girlfriend. Bruce Campbell stars as Sam, Michael’s closest buddy in town, a washed up military intelligence contact who is keeping an eye on Michael for the Feds. Also starring is Emmy® Award-winner Sharon Gless as Madeline, Michael’s hypochondriac mother, who couldn’t be happier to have her boy back in town.
Joining the cast this season in a recurring role is Tricia Helfer (“Battlestar Gallactica”) as Carla, the woman who may be behind Michael’s burn notice.
Burn Notice is back to burning up our screens tonight on USA at 10p! This show not only picked up where it left off last season with the storyline, it also picked up with the brilliant writing and amazing cast chemistry from last season!!! This show might be filmed in hot Miami. but it is so cool!

Burn Notice is back to burning up our screens tonight on USA at 10p! This show not only picked up where it left off last season with the storyline, it also picked up with the brilliant writing and amazing cast chemistry!!! This show might be filmed in hot Miami. but it is so cool! This season is a little different because we find out who burned Michael Weston and she uses that against him! I am loving her dynamic that she adds to the show. It is like the cherry on top of a pina colada!!! But the pina colada is still great with best friend Bruce Campbell and Sharon Gless as nagging mom! BTW she looks she lost a few more pounds and she looks amazing!!! She might be down a few pounds, but this show is up in creativity and laughs!
So tune in to Burn Notice tonight and every Thursday at 10p and watch the show that gave the USA Network another night of successful programming

I Love Money premires on VH1 tonight at 9p!

July 6th, 2008 by

VH1 presents the new television series “I Love Money” where 15 wildly popular cast members from the “of Love” series get the chance to battle it out for what they wanted all along, fame and money! Last time these cast members competed it was for the heart of Bret, New York, or Flavor Flav, but this time its for $250,000 cash!

I Love Money is the best of all the VH1 Celebreality love shows because they put all the best contestants from I Love NY, Flavor of Love and Rock of Love together and instead vying for love they they are competing for $250,000. This show is a hot mess and I was hooked just from the description!
This show is so much fun and I have only seen the first episode. But just watching this preview it is only going to get better. The cat fights, love affairs and drunkiness have yet to start, but when they do this show will be hotter than a July day in Vegas! Plus the contestants are dressed for that day, so there is plenty of eye candy for everyone!
So tune in to I Love Money tonight and every Sunday at 9p on VH1 for a show 7 reality shows in the making!!!

The Secret Life of the American Teenager premieres tonight!

July 1st, 2008 by

Good-girl band geek Amy is smart, talented…and pregnant. Super-Christian cheerleader Grace wants to wait until she’s married. As their secrets start to spread to the parents and to friends like bad-boy Ricky and wild-child Adrian, everyone’s secrets and stories start to come to the surface.

I have to admit when I asked for a review screener of ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager because Molly Ringwald was in it, but what I got was so much more! I love The Secret Life of the American Teenager that premieres tonight at 8p on ABC Family. It is well written and shows the struggles of what teens goes through these days.
You have Amy who wasn’t sure she had sex, her first and only time, until she found out she’s pregnant. Ricky who is the father and a player, has a reason why he sleeps with as many girls as possible and you will learn that reason tonight. Adrian who is your normal sexually active teenage girl. Grace who wears a purity ring and her boyfriend Jack who is not sure he can wait until she is finished with med school before they do it. And then there is Ben who is your average teen who falls for Amy. Ben joins band just to impress Amy and it works! Molly Ringwald plays Amy’s mom. John Schneider and Josie Bissett play Grace’s parents.
The Secret Life of the American Teenager is a show that teens and parents should watch together. It has something for everyone and hopefully it will helps parents and teens talk frankly about sex because that is the best place for kids to get their sexual education.
So tune in to The Secret Life of the American Teenager tonight and every Tuesday at 8p on ABC Family!!!
UPDATE: For parents and teens who want to know a little more about opening up the communication on sex, The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancies has a guide to talk about the different topics that were discussed on the show.
