This is going to be huge. Unfortunately, we’re talking size not marketplace impact when Dell’s 17-inch Precision “mobile workstation” rolls out this fall. This portable desktop replacement promises up to 1TB of storage configured in a dual-drive RAID configuration, quad-core processor, and 16GB of graphics memory (1GB for graphics) with enough oomph to power a pair of external 30-inch displays. It also includes a number of unidentified media slots and an integrated jog shuttle controller — a pretty good hint at the mobile media types this laptop is targeting. Watch it all go down in the video after the break.

Most everyone digs a surprise, but the novelty tends to wear off after the third or fourth iteration of the same trick, wouldn’t you say? Rather than just coming right out and showing us the wares, Voodoo’s Rahul Sood is playing the tease card again with an obviously undisclosed new product. In an apparent attempt to keep the wave (started by the Omen and Envy 133, by the way) rolling, Mr. Sood has dropped a sliver of a hint on The Next Bench. He states that “there’s also this other thing [Voodoo is] working on right now,” but he very purposefully fails to elaborate. Just keep it sexy and overpowered and we won’t kvetch about the build up… too much.

That’s an honest to goodness media invite from Creative. The kind sent to tease us into attending product launches. So it’s natural to expect something new from Creative when this thing kicks off on September 17th. Will we finally see the launch of Creative’s long-rumored, and sorely-needed evolution to the Zen Vision or just more gear of notable sound quality but questionable build and interface design? We shall see.

Canon just launched its teaser campaign dubbed, “Destined Evolution.” There’s no way at this point to know for sure, but that certainly looks like a compact, full-frame 5D body (pictured after the break) given the button locations, mode dial, and seemingly lack of a pop-up flash. Three years since the 5D was originally launched, Photokina suddenly can’t come soon enough.
[Thanks, Andrew]

Sony Style is running a rather large teaser on its main page, featuring a quite distinctive power button and the blurb “Performance / Style / Mobility. Redefined.” Hrm. We wonder what it could be?

That friends, is Acer’s teaser for a new “notebook PC concept” set for release in New York later today. We’re not sure what it is, but it’s not very often that the unveiling of a concept device (which may or may not be manufactured) warrants a press event hosted by a company’s president. In this case, Acer’s Vista-hatin’ prez, Gianfranco Lanci. Whatever it is, that hint of a multi-media, touch controller is not something we’d expect to see on their Eee PC killer.

Another iriver mystery courtesy of a marketing teaser campaign. This little guy appears to share the hinged, electronic dictionary stylings of iriver’s other D-series offerings. However, another MIC-leak (think FCC for South Korea) tells us that iriver is working on a new Clix Plus model in 2/4/8GB capacities and a rumored 3-inch LCD. Could this be it? No one knows, but it’s also apparently delicious with coffee.

When iriver teases, our gadget reflexes go all pointy. Mind you, we know absolutely nothing about it except for what you see in that picture. However, there’s plenty of speculation on the iriverfans site suggesting that we’re looking at the packaging surrounding a new flash player. In fact, South Korea’s FCC-equivalent, the MIC, just certified a new W7 iriver player today. W, as in WiFi, with either 4GB or 8GB in tow. Please iriver, just a bit more info before we commit to our gift giving guide?

Sony sure loves to tease, and while the Rolly campaign finally resulted in an actual product, we’re still scratchin’ our noggins on this one. There’s not a lot to go on when looking at the teaser page for the simply-titled Drive, and aside from that delightfully green bow and a seductive “Coming soon” phrase, all we can make out is something akin to a scaled-down treadmill with a turgid windscreen. Okay, so maybe it’s just an all-in-one PC of some sort (we can almost imagine a floating LCD behind that ribbon), but we’ll leave the real guessing to you.
[Thanks, Cheek]

Sprint just brought up their Palm Centro site and with it, a few more details to make the dealio all official-io. The “world’s smallest Palm device” will cost you $100 beans after $100 mail-in rebate, minimum $25 data plan, and two year commitment to Sprint (and Garnet) when it launches on October 14th. We’re also seeing a choice of a candy-red finish for the first time if black is a bit too staid for your tastes. Perhaps we’ll hear a little more later today when the DigitalLife show kicks off in New York.
