Let’s hope Agfa brings more to Photokina than the 1338sT, because otherwise it’s going to be a pretty lonely booth. The 10 megapixel camera isn’t quite the top of the line, even with the 3-inch touchscreen: smile detection, face tracking, and a low-res YouTube video mode aren’t exactly huge selling points — especially for €179 ($265). The non-touchscreen DC-1338i version has been available in the States for a while now, so the morbidly curious can expect to see this bad boy at a Walgreens sometime in the future.

We won’t front — we weren’t, how do you say, blown away with RCA’s Small Wonder trio announced earlier this year, but we’ll give this one a fighting chance. The EZ300HD can capture clips at 720p on the 2GB of internal storage or on any spare SD card you’ve laying around. You’ll also find a 2.4-inch LCD, a low-res YouTube recording mode and a sure-to-be-awesome 4x digital zoom. Operation is supposedly dead-simple, and there’s a USB port and video output just in case you feel like blowin’ it up on the big screen. Grab it real soon for $159.99.

There it is, Sony Ericsson just went live with its new G705 powerhouse, 3G slider. Just as we heard, it sports a 2.4-inch display with automatic screen rotation courtesy of an accelerometer, WiFi, aGPS with Google Maps for Mobile, 1GB included M2 memory, built-in FM radio, RSS reader, and full HTML browser. It also features a 3.2 megapixel cam that can capture video and then upload directly to YouTube under a new partnership with Google. Also announced in a UMA variant (G705u) — an SE first — built exclusive for Orange to bridge GSM and WiFi networks. Headed to the US in Q1 2009.

Panasonic’s finally shipping the larger editions of its latest plasmas, from the updated and suddenly more famous 103-inch model to the 65- and 58-inch PZ800 series that have been leaking into U.S. stores recently. Japan also gets the top of the line PZR900 series that takes the YouTube access available in the latest PZ850 series and throws in a 1 TB DVR to go along with the 30,000:1 contrast ratio and acTVila HD video on-demand support, packed into 42-, 50-, and 58-inch panels. Of course, for those with 5.1 million yen ($48,314 U.S.) laying around and a large amount of wall space, the king sized TH-103PZ800 is nearly entry-level priced compared to its $70,000 predecessor, so why not treat yourself? You deserve it.

PlayOn wants to make sure you can get your daily dose of Barackrolls and Airwolf episodes beyond the desktop, while Hulu might not have a slick streaming set-top box of its own, this media server software turns flash video RSS streams into easily browsed folders for your DLNA-compliant hardware. PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and HP MediaSmart HDTVs being at the top of that list (with Nintendo Wii support planned by year-end) owners can grab the beta release of the software and stream low-res episodes of Psych, or any assortment of YouTube video they please. With Netflix support “just down the road” this could provide an end around for PS3 owners looking for streaming love, or Xbox 360 owners without Xbox Live Gold (we know you’re out there.) Bad news is the beta only lasts 60 days and there’s a $30 pricetag waiting at the end of the free lunch highway. Our experience was good, with no stutters in a Psych episode streamed via Wi-Fi to the PS3 (albeit with no choice of HD clips), but we’d wait for confirmation on the whole Netflix bit before dropping any dough.

Just in case you weren’t already watching enough YouTube at work and on your home computer, on your iPhone, Ocean, etc., or on your Apple TV, now TiVo’s getting in on the action as well. Expect the update to pop over your TiVo’s regularly scheduled updates over the next couple of weeks. Oh, and our man Dave Zatz shot some video of the new feature and put it up on (where else?) YouTube — check it out after the break.

Uh oh, DXG’s creeping its way up into luxury territory. Earlier this year, we saw the outfit dish out a craptacular $149 HD camcorder, and just a few months back we were introduced to the $169 DXG-569V. Now, it’ll take another Hamilton in order to rightfully claim its newest unit, the DXG-567V. The pocket-friendly cam is available in four different hues, ships with rechargeable AA batteries and uploads directly to YouTube and other video sharing sites without much hassle at all. DXG claims that this bugger captures video at 1,280 x 720 (30fps), but even at $179, we have our doubts about the overall quality. Better watch out though, by this time next year you’ll see DXG perched up beside Sony, Panasonic and the rest of the respected gang.

Aiptek is making a habit of bringing portable HD recording to some seriously affordable levels. The HDV21X Action HD 1080p High Definition Camcorder w/ Optical Zoom (known as the AHD Z500 Plus in Europe) records H.264 HD video (1,440 x 1080, 16 x 9) on a 5 megapixel sensor at 30 frames per second and 720P at 60 frames all for a paltry $199.99 at your local Wal-Mart. Expect to get up to 8 hours of 1080p video on a 32GB SDHC card. As for still images, the Z500 shoots at 8 megapixels and even sports a macro mode for both video and still. Also on board is a 3x optical zoom, CIF mode for easy YouTube uploads, a 2.4-inch swivel-mount TFT LCD, and component outputs for all the HD goodness. To top it all of, its diminutive size is worth mentioning: 4.4 x 2.75 x 1.3-inches.

With the Flip Mino just hitting the scenes (and skyrocketing up Amazon’s sales charts), there’s no doubt that Creative’s fighting an uphill battle with the Vado Pocket Video Cam. Designed to compete in the YouTube-friendly pocket camcorder sector, this critter was actually said to be built a bit studier than the Flip and pack a more luscious display to boot. Reviewers also found the audio quality to be (expectedly) subpar, and while video quality was decent for a sub-$100 device, the compression monster managed to make ho hum results downright ugly when clips were uploaded to the ‘Tube. Still, for the market this one’s aimed at (read: a market without videophiles), it’s not a half bad addition to the cargo pocket arsenal — just don’t go expecting the world and you’ll be fine.

Sony’s Bravia Internet Video Link hasn’t really gotten much attention, but the little box is growing up so fast — Sony’s just announced that as of today, YouTube content will now be available at no extra cost. That’s in addition to channels from Style.com, Sports Illustrated, blip.tv, and others, and YouTube content should pop up in the BIVL’s XMB inteface just like all the rest. Sounds great — now to figure out how to RickRoll the sucker.

If you’ve been feeling like those videos you’ve been making of you and your friends dancing to “Lipgloss” haven’t been landing on YouTube fast enough, JVC has got you covered. The company is launching the new Everio S Series GZ-MS100 camcorder, a cheapo model designed to get your clips onto the internet as fast as humanly possible. Utilizing CyberLink software and a dedicated “upload” button on the camera, you can share your embarrassing moments with the world in no time at all. The GZ-MS100 records to SD card, features touch sensitive buttons and scroll-bar, and retails for the ultra-affordable price of $349.99. In June, all of your grainy, pixelated dreams can come true.

Here it is copyright bandits, the single biggest reason (besides silicone) to make a Hollywood studio notice you: the MZK-NAS02SG1T network attached storage device from Planex. The main selling point behind the the ¥54,799 (about $524) 1TB Gigabit Ethernet block is the claim to “universal access” for all your devices. That little trick comes courtesy of its DigiJuke browser for searching and tagging the BitTorrent and YouTube content you want downloaded in the appropriate PSP and iPod (MPEG-4), Wii (FLV), or TV (MPEG-2) format for in-home or on-the-go viewing. The NAS also streams audio and video to your iTunes laptops or desktops, DLNA TV, Xbox 360, or other compliant device in the home. A front-facing USB 2.0 jack offers one-touch dubbing of USB sticks while a second around back offers ready storage expansion. It ships with a pair of 3.5-inch 500GB drive which you can swap out for higher capacity spinners at a later date. That is if the studios don’t shut you down first.

While many thrill rides we yearn to strap ourselves into aren’t even in the US, a new ride headed to Universal Studios Orlando is apt to thrill the YouTube generation — on purpose. Reportedly, designers are crafting the so-called Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit to cater to those obsessed with technology (that’s us) by enabling patrons to personalize their ride by choosing their own tunes and creating a music video that can be uploaded for all your envious friends to see as soon as you can whip out that 3G card and mash “upload.” ‘Course, there’s a few loops, drops and a 167-foot-tall peak, but it’s the “digital audio and video effects” during the ride that you’re really anxious to experience, yeah? Clear the calendar now — this one is set to open next Spring.
[Thanks, Jonathan]

We’re not sure how the AirLive AirMedia 3000 “wireless multimedia server” accesses YouTube content without a browser — unlike devices like the Apple TV and iPhone, it apparently plays the straight .flv files, which only show up on the website, we believe — but if it does, chalk it up as one of the easier ways to watch dogs ride skateboards on your TV. Not much else in the way of details, but if this thing really is rocking Flash video support, we can see it carving out a solid little niche for itself.

Helio’s warm embrace of YouTube’s wide world of entertainment is nothing new, but it’s getting a whole heck of a lot warmer today with the release of an all-new YouTube app for the Ocean dual slider. Basically, if you can do it from YouTube’s desktop website, you can now do it through the Ocean — instant uploading, ratings, video replies, it’s all here. Check out the full gallery over at Engadget Mobile, or if you’re lucky enough to have an Ocean of your very own, go hook your bad self up, why don’t you?

Yesterday YouTube unveiled YouTube Video Identification, a system designed to prevent copyrighted videos from making their way onto the site without the consent of the owner. Rather cunningly, YouTube requires that content owners send in a master copy of all their copyrighted content — y’know, so they can cross reference it against uploads (nothing to do with Google’s aim of indexing everything, ever … no.) Any data that matches the reference data can be deleted automatically, but only if the content owner says so. According to YouTube chief counsel Zahavah Levine, there will be a way for content owners to set it up so YouTube can scan content on other servers — removing the requirement for a master copy to be uploaded to YouTube — although Levine said that method “would be more difficult.” For who, Google, or the TV and movie studios?

Evidently, loosing the DSM-750 Extender for Windows Media Center just wasn’t enough for D-Link, as the firm seemingly felt the need to give loyal (and to-be) owners of the DSM-520 Wireless HD Media Player a nice bonus. Starting today, buyers of the aforementioned digital media adapter will have access to “more than 200 online channels,” as the unit can now take advantage of active-TV technology. The service reportedly “allows easy access to internet video and entertainment sites with a remote control,” and it also uses a “content aggregator developed by MediaMall Technologies.” Some notable channels include Comedy Central, CinemaNow, Google Video, Movielink, ROOtv Music Videos, Akimbo, MTV, Musicmatch, Napster, VH1, ESPN and FOX Sports, and there’s also international content out there for those willing to branch out. The expanded DSM-520 should be shipping momentarily for $249.99, and existing owners can snag the update gratis on October 4th.

If I was a millionaire…
I would buy Beyonce Knowles a bra. Beyonce just finished recovering from falling down a set of stairs last month and now this. During a performance in Toronto some floor fans blew up her dress exposing her bare breast because she wasn’t wearing a bra.
Poor girl… at least she just kept on dancing as usual!

If I was a millionaire…
I would buy Beyonce’s will-power and spirit. These are some videos of Beyonce performing a show in Orlando when she stepped on her dress and fell down a flight of stairs. Yet she got right back up and continued dancing like nothing had even happened!
You can see that she smacks her knee pretty hard. I probably would have been crying after falling down the stairs at a massive concert like that!

If I was a millionaire…
I would give the city of New York some more funding so stuff like this doesn’t happen anymore. An explosion by a steam pipe near Grand Central Station in New York has opened a 15-by-25 foot crater. One woman has been reported dead from the accident after suffering a heart attack when running from the explosion.
Tests also now confirm that the debris from the explosion did contain asbestos.
